7 Ways To Celebrate The End Of Midterm Season

Stress, anxiety, cramming – these are all adjectives which can characterize the last few weeks for college students across the nation. For many of us, these past few weeks have been a combination of late night study seshs with others in your classes struggling to review only a few weeks’ worth of knowledge in just hours.

Hopefully, when you entered the testing rooms and saw the test you absolutely killed it, but if not don’t fret because it is now behind you! After finishing your last midterm, you may be at a complete lost about what to do next with the myriad of time which seemed to have gloriously appeared. Want to celebrate? Here are a few ideas to get the party started after midterm season is behind you.

1. First and foremost, resist bragging or moping too much about your results!

Yes, you may be super proud of the biology midterm you aced, or you could be saddened by your not so good grade. Regardless, keep that to yourself to prevent spoiling the mood for others.

2. If you are anything like me, having an impromptu dance party will always get you in a positive mood.

Maybe you can do it Grey’s Anatomy style and bust a move with your roomie, or if you do it with some of your fellow midterm warriors outside. Regardless, get those jitters out from the pent-up energy you have been holding in for these few weeks!

3. Treat yo’ self.

This will forever be my favorite universal mantra. You have worked hard over the past few weeks, so why not splurge a little and buy that much coveted item that you have been saving up for.

4. Relax and refresh.

There is nothing better than a good night sleep to give yourself a mental jumpstart. Recover from the long nights and caffeine surges with a long nap.

5. Spend a day poolside – or fireside.

Going to school on the West coast means that the pool is available to you pretty much year-round. However, whether it is a pool or a fire chilling with some friends there is value in relaxing with friends in a different environment.

5. Binge on Netflix.

You probably have been behind on your tenth time of binging the Office, Parks and Recreation or Riverdale so why not start again?

6. Cook something new and exciting!

Has there been a recipe you have been dying to try? I know I have about ten at any given moment that I am dying to try! Why not take a few hours to find the perfect cookie recipe on the depths of Pinterest to try soon?

Stay strong, because you are in the home stretch!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
