You'd think it's all amazing - moving out of the cramped atmosphere of the dorms, sharing several showers and water fountains, bad dining hall food, etc...but what everyone needs to know is that, although a great life lesson, moving out of those dorms is actually one of the hardest things you'll have to do in college. You need to know some truths of life after the dorms before you make any decisions:

1) Cooking your own food

It doesn't sound so bad. You can eat healthier, and better quality foods than just greasy stuff. But buying all that food to cook is actually pretty difficult. AND coming back from class tired and just done with the whole day...you're not going to be up for cooking an entire meal.

2) Getting to class

You gotta take the bus now! And sometimes, those buses are late, or just take forever to get there in general. You will have to leave much earlier now, so be careful picking those 8am/9am classes. You can't get up a half hour before, especially if you live far away from campus classes.

3) Maintenance

No more dormitory housekeeping anymore. You have to clean the kitchen, the bathroom, the other rooms, take out the trash, clean the floor (it gets dirty, you don't want to walk around a house with dirty floors)...

4) Compromise

Believe it or not, it can actually be more difficult to live with people in an apartment than in a dorm. Yes, less people sharing a bathroom and the rest of the house, but since you all have to maintain it, you have to come to agreements. Without compromising who will deal with the trash and the dishes in the sink can lead to some discomfort in living.

5) Noise

Walls are thin. The dorm walls may actually be thicker than most of the apartment walls in town. You can hear basically everything. So when you're on the phone with your family/best friend/significant other, keep it down - you can be heard.

6) Bills

YOU'RE PAYING ALL THE TIME. Although the dorms are obviously more expensive, you pay for something a couple times a week, whether if it's your rent, your wifi, your groceries, eating out, a doctor's visit, a car/bike problem...

7) Sickness Spreads Fast

You thought you got sick easily at the dorms last year? Think again. Although those housemates of yours are the sweetest and coolest as can be, if someone gets sick, you're almost guaranteed to follow.

So for those of you in those dorms, enjoy it now. Don't jump to "apartment freedom" just yet.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
