For some reason, I automatically attach a long flight or car ride with boredom. There is something about sitting in a small space surrounded by strangers that doesn't sound very appealing….(hmm I wonder why). After all of my road trips down to Southern California and flying across the country for school, I like to believe I am a seasoned pro when it comes to traveling.

Here is my short list of 7 of my favorite things to do to pass the time during long monotonous road trips/flights:

1. Sleep

I am the QUEEN of sleeping on planes/in cars, but if you are unlike me try taking some melatonin which will knock you right out. Pop on a neck pillow and you are good to go. Sleeping definitely makes the flight/drive fly by the fastest.

2. Watch TV/movies

Downloads on Netflix. Enough said.

But basically just download as many shows/movies you want over wifi and enjoy your private (tiny) home theater. Also many planes now have movie screens so feel free to browse those options as well!

3. Read

Pick up a good book (or two and three) and catch yourself being mesmerized by the pages. Reading has the same effect as watching tv but it is more intellectually stimulating!!

4. Play cards

If you are traveling with friends/family take some time to enjoy a nice game of cards. You can play spoons, BS, Go Fish, crazy 8s, War, blackjack, you name it!!

5. Play games on your phone

Channel your inner child and play any game that doesn't need data/wifi! Or download other apps such as solitaire or puzzle apps to play which help pass the time.

6. Listen to music

Put on some headphones and jam to your favorite music. Whether you play some hype music to dance along to ot soothing music to fall asleep to, music is always the best choice.

7. Work on a coloring book

Adult coloring books are a thing now okay. But seriously, a coloring book is a great way to practice patience as well as relax yourself during a long cramped travel day.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
