We all know that maintaining a healthy lifestyle in college can be tricky. Between all your classes, homework, a job, and extra circulars you're in, it can be hard to eat healthily or get a good workout in. But, here are some things that have helped me live a healthy lifestyle in college!

1. Pack your lunch.

I know it is hard to resist the food in your food court on campus. For me it is especially hard to resist Chic-Fil-A (I'm sure you all understand the struggle), but packing my lunch helps me still eat healthy when I have a long day on campus and don't have time to go home on my break.

2. Pick the healthy option in the food court.

On my campus, there is a salad bar, a yogurt bar, and plenty of pre-made sandwiches, fruit cups, and wraps. This is always a good thing to grab for me especially if I didn't have time to pack my lunch in the morning!

3. Bring a water bottle with you every day.

Staying hydrated is super important. We are supposed to drink 8 glasses of water every day so bringing your water bottle with you to be able to refill is always a good idea. A lot of people make the mistake of drinking their calories. Having your water bottle helps you refrain from grabbing a soda or your usual drink from Starbucks.

4. Workout Classes.

Even if you're not a huge fan of running, or lifting weights, there are always plenty of workout classes offered from Zumba, to spin classes, or yoga. These workout classes are a good way to get in a workout with your friends, and not hating your life wishing your workout was already over.

5. Invest in a Fitbit or something similar.

This might sound silly, but I always wear my Fitbit Charge or Apple Watch! I know an Apple Watch is a little pricy but it has an Activity app that shows you how many calories you've burned, and how much exercise you've done. You can also set reminders so your Apple Watch that remind you to get moving! Fitbit counts your steps, tracks your sleep, and lets you put your calories into the app that you have on your phone. Fitbit is a little cheaper, and has different styles with different features on each style. Think about investing in one of the two!

6. Getting your steps in.

Walk to class, and don't take the shuttle. Park far away. Take the stairs. If you can't get to the gym that day, doing those still allows you to get some exercise!

7. Sleep.

It is important to at least get 8 hours of sleep every night. It can be a struggle to get 8 hours of sleep between homework assignments, studying for exams, and maintaining a social life. But, sleep is important for your health, and for being able to focus in class all day!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
