We all either are procrastinators or know procrastinators, because let's be honest, it's something that runs rampant in our culture. I, personally confess that I tend to procrastinate often, thus putting me in the category of a procrastinator. I usually start off with good intention, but it just goes downhill from there. I'm honestly convinced that I'm more productive when I procrastinate, but regardless, it can be a stressful experience. Here are some thoughts that have gone through every procrastinator's head at least once.

1. "I have so much time to finish this."

This is usually the first thought that comes to mind when a procrastinator looks at an assignment. Does that mean we are going to use that time wisely? No. It just means we acknowledge the fact that there is, in fact, sufficient time to finish the assignment.

2. "I should probably do my work, but am I going to? Nope."

Procrastinators are always aware of the work that they should be doing, but when it comes down to choosing between something fun and work, 9 times out of 10 the fun is going to win.

3. "I'll start Tomorrow"

We find ourselves saying this until the project is basically due Tomorrow. In our defense, we had every intention of starting earlier…

4. "I need to mentally prepare myself."

It's important to mentally prepare before entering into a cram session because what's a head will most likely not be pretty.

5. "Why do I do these things to myself?"

We ask ourselves this question every time, yet nothing ever changes.

6. "You can do it!"

We attempt to cheer ourselves on and coach ourselves through it because maybe that will work. Also as we get closer and closer to the finish line, the cheering gets a little more enthusiastic.

7. "I'm so not going to procrastinate next time."

Yeah right, we all know that's a lie. We can't help it, procrastinating is just part of who we are.

Procrastination might be a never ending cycle, but being a procrastinator isn't the worst thing in the world. Procrastination works for some and doesn't make sense to others, and that's okay. We procrastinators are most likely not going to stop anytime soon and we'll be just fine.

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.
