A good number of my friends from college have said how much they would love to be back at Stonehill right now. On work days, I cannot wait for school. So, while daydreaming about going back to Stonehill, I may as well make you daydream about it as well.
1. The Campus
Let's be real, when someone brings up Stonehill, they almost always talk about the campus itself. And looking at Donahue from the quad, who could blame them.
2. Dunks
I don't know about you, but the nearest Dunks to me is a 10-minute drive. Doesn't sound too bad, but I'm lazy time-wise and like to go with others on a 5-minute walk since company makes the journey enjoyable.
3. The Room
I know, dorm rooms aren't ideal. They're always too hot for me and sometimes neighbors can be less than pleasant. But hear me out. Sometimes having a room to yourself and your roommate is more relaxing than being at home. There can be days when you do not have to feel like you have obligation to help out around the house, which leads me to the next thing I miss:
4. Freedom
Again, I know this can be debated, but I feel a lot freer at Stonehill than home. Maybe not necessarily weekdays with classes, but after them and on weekends, I can do what I want. I'm a nerd and I do homework and play video games during those times, but it's the thought that counts.
5. Weekends
No matter what lifestyle you like to live, Stonehill has it. There have been weekends when I've stayed in, having Mario Kart tournaments with friends and just relaxing. There have been other times where I've gone out with friends to the courts, with most ending up at the Hill grabbing some midnight food.
6. Group Shows
The Walking Dead has always been a show my friends and I would watch together at school as new episodes were shown. Watching new episodes or binge-watching Netflix shows have become a past-time for my friends and I (though binge-watching Netflix is a past-time of mine even on my own). This leads me to the final thing on my list:
7. College Friends
Sure, I've seen school friends over the summer, along with high school friends. But it's not the same as at school, where I can walk down the hall and see some of my best friends, some of who live in different states. Being able to see your friend group whenever you want is something special that college is able to do, and Stonehill has some of the greatest friends I could ask for.
