One of my best friends and I have been in each other's life since day one, literally. She was at the hospital the day I was born. The term "best friends since diapers" to us, literally means "best friends since size 1 diapers." Our parents are best friends, so of course, we had to be best friends too. 18 years later, here we are, trying to prove to the world, one person at a time, that we are twins. Here are a few of the constant obstacles that we have faced on our journey:
1. You say things at the same time.
Twin telepathy.
2. You show up with the same outfits, unplanned.
Again, twin telepathy.
3. You look for ways to prove that you are twins.
We have the same freckles.
4. When your birthdays correlate.
"It's a statement of a fact."
5. When one cuts hair, so does the other.
And when one regrets the haircut, so does the other...
6. Each other's family claims the other.
"Our other daughter is here."
7. Our mothers tell us, repeatedly, that we're not wombmates.
Our mothers are so shaking their heads right now.
Whether were actually "wombmates" or not, I will forever be grateful for my best friend/sister.
