7 Real Struggles We All Have When Moving
Caitlin Love

Moving to a new apartment is super exciting, especially if it’s a huge upgrade from your old place! Moving, however, is not as awesome and here’s why.

1. You have WAY more stuff than you ever imagined.

I mean seriously... way too much stuff for one human.

2. Packing becomes a never-ending task because every time you find something you haven’t seen in a while you start reminiscing.

Notebooks from freshman year are not something you should keep. It’s also slightly embarrassing to look back and see all the stupid little doodles and notes you wrote down at 18 years old.

3. Having enough boxes... yeah not a thing.

You can never have enough boxes or bins to pack in. Home Depot has earned some big bucks from me on cardboard boxes alone.

4. If you drive a small car you’re in for a whole new world of challenges.

I drive a bug… and believe me, NOTHING fits. Times like these require the help of good friends with big cars.

5. Leaving the old place means cleaning it. I mean SPOTLESS.

When you leave an apartment you are expected to clean it and leave it better than you found it. So basically, on top of packing up and moving out, you also have to scrub the place from top to bottom before you can leave.

6. Getting to the new place just means unloading all the hard work you’ve put in.

Once you load the truck/cars up and head to the new place you take 10 minutes to unlock the door and look around, and then you tear apart every bit of work you did loading the truck/cars and throw boxes and all sorts of crap into your new place :)

7. Finally, you’re in your new home. Time to Relax!! NOT.

Now you have to go about cleaning and redecorating the new place. You also have to worry about forwarding mail, getting your new cable set up, and unloading every single box you worked so hard to pack.

Moving is exciting, but it’s also exhausting. Good luck to anyone out there moving!!!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
