7 Steps To Gorgeous Curly Hair

We all know that one friend who claims to have “awful” hair that is the most unruly mess. And you’re just sitting there looking at them with the… you’ve got to be kidding me face.

Well if that is you, welcome to the thoughts of every girl with curly hair! If you are like me you probably have thick, curly, frizzy, and INSANE hair. Do you ever just wish that it was straight? Or just manageable enough to at least style it once in awhile? Without it taking two hours of your life away just for it to turn back to curls when mother nature decides to unleash the biggest rainstorm EVER!

Before:

Behold the seven steps to beautiful curly hair that you don't want to chop off every five seconds.

1. Use a sulfate free shampoo

Believe it or not, the DevaCurl No-Poo “shampoo” literally works WONDERS! I have no idea why it has taken me so long to finally start using this product. It is one of my holy grail products.

2. CONDITION, CONDITION, CONDITION

I cannot stress this enough… Because those who have curly hair need as much hydration and moisture to be locked into their hair as possible. Curly hair is already dry enough, and if you are having an issue with your curls not being that “perfect” curl that we all have… Then that is a sign that you NEED a good conditioner. Like the one from DevaCurl, called One-Condition… AMAZING!

3. Hair mask… TWICE A WEEK

Normally, for those with the straight locks of hair that we all seem to wish we had…. They recommend using an intensive hair mask once a week. Yet, those with curly hair are usually instructed to do the same. FALSE. Like I said, in order to have perfect curls, CONDITION CONDITION CONDITION! I was introduced to this hair mask last year, and it is a very hefty price… But I see a HUGE difference in my hair after each time I use it! The product is by Shu Uemura named the Ultimate Remedy Extreme Restoration Treatment… Awesome for those luscious locks!

4. Oil… OMG

At the same time that I was introduced to the hair mask, I was to the oil also by Shu Uemura that I think has saved my hair from the torturous procedure of brushing my hair. I apply it right after I lightly towel dry my hair, and comb right through it like I never had curly hair before. This honestly saved my life while I had long hair because it was 10 times more snarled than with it shorter. The oil is called Essence Absolue!

5. Protein Cream… EW?

Yes, that is right, protein for your hair! It seems weird at first, but girls with curly hair rely on heavy amounts of protein to protect their curls from the dangers of the world… Not to mention the sun and heat. This product has saved my life, thanks to my cousin, Krista, for using this one on me! Every time I get my haircut, it curled so beautifully with no curl enhancing product. Finally, I asked what it was and since then I have been hooked. My hair curls effortlessly now! This product is by ELC Dao of Hair, it is by their RD haircare line, and it is called RDPlus!

6. Mousse

Once again, from my favorite haircare line, Shu Uemura, they saved my life with my frizzy sometimes not all the way curled hair with their amazing mousse Kaze Wave! Creates beautiful bouncy waves every single time.

7. Now after all of those steps I finally just scrunch my hair a little bit, take a scrunchie(because we all know regular hair ties don’t last in our hair), and put it into a loose bun on top of my head to dry! Each time it comes out looking better than the last.

Hopefully this seven-step-guide will help you to achieve the goddess curls that everyone always seems to somehow want…. And you are always willing to give!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
