Tis the season of college applications... And all the emotions that come with them.
1. Stressing all day over when you'll receive your decision
Will it be at noon? 7pm? WHY DON'T THEY TELL US THESE THINGS?!?!
2. Refreshing your email/the college's portal incessantly
I know it wasn't in my inbox 2.3 seconds ago, but maybe they juuust sent them. Okay, maybe now? What about now?
3. Finally getting the email
The anxiety now sets in...
4. Forgetting your portal password because you're so nervous/stressed
I have too many passwords to remember... Did it have a capital letter? Any numbers?
5. Finally getting in, but being too nervous to open the decision
Oh my
6. Reading your decision with butterflies in your stomach the entire time
Everything around you seems to pause.
7. The aftermath
Just know there will be tears either way.
As a high school senior, I just survived college decision week. I know that everyone tries to give you a few words of encouragement before decisions come out, the most popular being "Everything will happen the way it should." As someone who has heard this phrase a million and two times, I can wholeheartedly say that I absolutely agree. I know it sounds cliché and can get frustrating to hear after the 34th time you hear it, but it's so true. Where there is light, there must be shadow; You must get rejected in order to realize how amazing acceptance is. I'm thinking of all the seniors who are still waiting on decisions (you got this!!!!!!), and for the current juniors: Good luck. Work hard. Everything will fall into place the way it is supposed to, I promise.
