Sometimes it can be hard to articulate your thoughts and feelings, and you just need help finding the right words. Luckily for you, someone famous has probably already said them. And said them in a much better way than you ever could. Thank you, quotes.
Quotes are little nuggets of wisdom and motivation that manage to contain so much wisdom in just a sentence or two. Plus, someone super cool who did something incredible probably said it which means it’s 100% without-a-doubt true. Quotes are short, credible, and way easier to learn from than a textbook. So, here’s to the quote lovers. Whether you love bible verses or the wise words of Britney Spears, you know these feelings.
1. You have stickers with your favorite quotes on everything.
.Most people buy stickers with cool art or pictures, but yours are just words in the fanciest handwriting you could find. They cover your laptop, folders, and pretty much anything else you can get them to stick to.
2. You have those Quotable magnets.
You know the ones. In the notebook section at Barnes and Noble? I had like 5 in my locker in high school. Now, the struggle is finding enough magnetic spaces to put all of them. You make people say, “You’re gonna need a bigger fridge.” (Get it?)
3. Your planner is filled with quotes.
Either you got a planner filled with quotes already, or you filled them in yourself. Or maybe you have one of those quote calendars. Either way, nothing helps you start the day like a good quote.
4. You have your favorite quotes memorized.
Your friends all probably groan when they hear you start, “Well, have you heard the quote from...?” or, “You know, […] said…” You can end basically any argument with the words of someone else. (Have you heard the one from Einstein about the fish climbing the tree? Ugh, I love it.)
5. You doodled those quotes in all your notebooks.
Most people just doodle hearts and disturbingly realistic eyes in their notes. You doodle quotes. You know all of them so well that it’s not even distracting to write out a little Shakespeare in the margins.
6. You love quotable lyrics.
Your friends may hear a new song and appreciate the instruments or beat. All you can think about is what lines you can pull and add to your repertoire.
7. You’re very picky about your quotes
If someone gives you a gift with a quote, you either love it or completely hate it. You either get a great new quote or something you really don't want to own. Some quotes are just better than others. When someone gives you a gift that says, “Live. Laugh. Love,” you can’t help but think that Sylvia Plath said it better.
Whether you’re a quote aficionado or a beginner who just really likes Celine Dion lyrics, keep on quoting. It’s a far more useful skill than anyone will have you think. Your boss will think so when you answer a question or problem with some wise words.
