7 Shows To Binge-Watch This Summer

In the summer, when we have less to worry about and to do, we have plenty of time to relax and do what we want. On rainy summer days, what is better to do than lay in bed with a good Netflix show? Sometimes, when you finish a series, you get stumped about what to watch next. Fret no more, here are some suggestions to spice up your summer.

1. "Orange Is the New Black"

This may seem like an obvious choice; however, with the new season that just debuted not too long ago, this show is a must-see. This show covers heavy topics, yet throws in quite a bit of comedy as well. Just make sure you have lots of time to devote to this show because once you start it, you won't be able to stop.

2. "Scrubs"

Watching this show, you get to see a slight glimpse into the medical field; however, it is nothing too serious or in-depth. So, you get to feel smart while you lay in bed with your laptop and Netflix. You get lots of hilarious one-liners packed into a short episode. The relationships the workers have with each other is something we all want.

3. "Friends"

The oh-so-classic show is never a bad choice. Whether you watch is sequentially or just an episode here and there, the show still makes perfect sense. The characters are always doing something unexpected, and never fail to make us laugh. There are 10 seasons, so plenty of material to entertain you.

4. "Parks and Recreation"

"Parks and Rec" arguably has the most interesting and funniest group of characters. They're funny, yet they don't try to be, making it even better. It may be slow at first, but once you get into the show, you'll never want to stop watching. I mean, who doesn't want to watch Amy Poehler be her hilarious self?

5. "Grace and Frankie"

Though this may be one of the lesser known shows on this list, it does not lack in quality. This is a Netflix original that focuses on the lives of a few older people after they make a major life change. It has the perfect amount of humor mixed in, and the characters do not disappoint. For older people, they are always down for adventures.

6. "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"

Another Netflix original, this show is very lighthearted and quite easy to binge-watch; there are only two seasons so far. Even though there aren't many episodes yet, so much has happened in it already, and it has us on the edge of our seats wanting more. What's not to love about a cute girl like Kimmy?

7. Archer

This unique animated show has the perfect mix of James Bond and Futurama. It has the slick-suited espionage from Bond and the comedy gold of Futurama. There are six seasons on Netflix, and more in the making, so that is plenty to draw you in and keep your attention for a while. Once you get a taste, you won't want to stop.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
