Having a younger sister is always a unique experience. What's even more unique is when that sister is you're best friend. Here's a short list of what it's like to be peas in a pod with your little sister:

1. You tend to say or think the exact same things at the same time.

While it kind of freaks you out sometimes, you grow to accept it and just explain you're really close. It also leads to people asking if you're twins and getting strange looks when you say you're 3 years apart...

2. When you're apart, your still talking.

Whether it be Snapchatting, text messaging or even a group chat with friends, you never really stop having a conversation.

3. You both have similar music tastes, but still don't always like the same bands.

For example: my sister and I are going to Van's Warped Tour in our city and while I'm fangirling over Yellowcard and Sum 41, she's ecstatic to go see Falling in Reverse.

4. You're role as older sister is pretty much nonexistent.

When I got older, I wanted to take on more of a protective role, you know, show her the world, be her sounding board, etc. That unfortunately is one of the things I do that makes her the most annoyed. While I am older, sometimes I have to remember I'm not more experienced in some things.

5. When you fight, it's even harder.

I know for me it's harder when we fight because I'm afraid I don't know her anymore. Sometimes, when the fights get bad or long, I wonder if it's her pulling away and resenting me for something I've done. When you're as thick as thieves, that's a feeling that rips through your core.

6. You always make up.

While the fights might get bad, that's what happens when your so close. No ones the same and you both know that. You also know in the fight that in two hours you'll be binge watching some Korean drama together, forgetting the fight all together.

7. You're never without you're best friend.

When you're close with your sister it's the best feeling in the world. You know that you don't just deal with her because you're blood, you deal with her because you want to. She's the Yin to your Yang and you don't know how you survived those couple years without her by your side. She does everything you can't and vise-versa. And you know in you're heart that she's your true soulmate.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
