1. I Did NOT Spend $500 in Sephora Since January To Impress Someone.
If you are anything like me it's hard (impossible) to enter Sephora without dropping at least 50 bucks and there is no way in hell that you are dropping that money just to impress someone else.
2. I Don't Have the Time.
It typically takes me an hour to an hour and a half to get ready (hair, makeup, and getting dressed) and this is without even considering how anyone else would like me to look that day. I simply do not have the time to think about how to impress anyone else.
3. It's Fun.
I genuinely enjoy doing my make up. Sometimes, I do it even if I'm not leaving my house (gasp!). Could that possibly mean that girls are doing something for themselves and not to impress anyone else?! The agony.
4. It's A Career.
Let me start by saying I don't earn money doing makeup, BUT there are plenty of girls and guys who do. A high-end makeup artist makes about 120,000 a year. Now that's impressive.
5. It Doesn't Work the Other Way Around.
No one is preaching to guys that "girls don't like it when you wear those sneakers" or "you should wear hats more, girls love that." So if guys aren't getting ready every morning with the idea that they have to go out and impress someone, what makes you think girls are doing the same thing?
6. "You don't need to wear make up to feel good about yourself!"
Whoa, who said I was wearing make up to cover up some underlying self-esteem issue?! You're right, I do not need to wear make-up and trust me, there are plenty of times where you will see me without it. Just because I like wearing make up doesn't mean that I think I need it. I feel good about myself because I'm freaking awesome, not because I'm a killer at doing make up (which I am).
7. I Like It.
This one is self explanatory. I like it , so I'm doing it. 'Nuff said.
