7 Reasons to Embrace the Pumpkin Spice
The Huffington Post

September rolled around and with it came the great pumpkin, or at least the great pumpkin spice. We all knew the time would come and some were more prepared than others. You either embrace it or fully reject the thought of pumpkin spice season, here's 7 reasons why you should just give in.

1. Pumpkin Spice is the first step to the Holiday Season

You're either a summer lover or a cold dweller, we all have a preference. The holiday season is the exception, we can all pick out one memory from our favorite fall or winter holiday that we absolutely love and let's face it, pumpkin spice everything is basically the bat signal for all things Holiday.

2. It is now acceptable enjoy Hobby Lobby and their early Holiday spirit.

Hobby Lobby is the poster child for early holiday indulgence, admit it you've walked in and felt a spark of excitement upon seeing the christmas trees even though its still 100 degrees outside. Pumpkin Spice is publicly out and now we can indulge in the holiday spirit with little embarrassment.

3. Pumpkin Spice means cold weather is coming

For us desert dwellers, the thought of sweater weather is so close yet so far away. I enjoyed my first Pumpkin Spice Latte in 90 degree weather, but it's ok because maybe by drinking it the cold weather will come sooner. I means a basic girl could dream right?

4. Football season is here

The boys of fall are ready to take over the field, and we're ready to cheer them on. Whether you're cheering on your varsity boy, college team, or your favorite NFL quarterback it's time for tailgates and kick off.

5. Halloween

Grab your cuddle buddy and get ready because the holiday of fright is upon us and it's bringing screams and laughter with it, but mostly screams. Halloween means scary movies, haunted houses, and a free pass for scaring your best friend. So grab you boyfriend, girlfriend, best friend, dog, or cat and get ready to stock up on candy that will most likely only last a week.

6. Food

It's time to bake. Whether you add pumpkin to your recipe or not the food that we are about to indulge in is what dreams are made of. We are all about to shamelessly indulge in baked goods that we will most likely need our big sweaters to cover up the damage. Don't even get me started on the thought of Thanksgiving dinner, my mouth is already watering.

7. You're one step closer to breaking out the Christmas music

Yes I said it, Christmas music is about to rear it's head. Pumpkin spice is here and that means the time is approaching where we can start playing our Christmas music. As a holiday lover I will shamelessly start playing my Christmas music the first chance I get, but I know many who would rather scream. So think of it this was, the holidays means an increase in time with friends and family and thats something anyone would look forward to.

Pumpkin spice is here, and it's probably best that you don't fight it. We can all find at least one upside to this fast approaching stereotype. So get ready, what's to come for the rest of the year is practically inescapable.

Pumpkin Spice, we're ready for you.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
