7 Reasons It's OK To Be Single On Valentine's Day

Just because it's Valentine's Day doesn't mean it's not OK to be single.

1. You don't have to spend your whole paycheck on gifts.

There's nothing sweeter than the thought and gesture of getting something nice for someone you care about, however there's also nothing wrong with saving a little money or treating yourself!

2. It's just any other day.

Yes, couples seem to be crawling out of everywhere today. They are holding hands on the sidewalk, feeding each other ice cream cones on benches, and taking over social networking websites, but at the end of the day Valentine's Day is just another day.

3. You probably have some secret admirers.

Maybe there is someone out there with their eyes on you who just hasn't had the opportunity to step up yet, don't be discouraged.

4. You can always just snuggle up with your favorite movie.

Enjoy your favorite show or movie on Valentines Day, cuddle up with your blanket and enjoy all the room you have to sprawl out on your bed.

5. You're not the only one who's not celebrating.

There are a bunch of people who are single on Valentine's Day, it's nothing to be bitter about!

6. There is someone out there for you.

One day you'll find someone who thinks your the bees knees. There is no need to rush to find it, everything happens in good time.

7. You definitely could have a Valentine, you just don't want to settle.

I bet you that you've turned down more people than you can recall. The fact that you don't want to settle for anything less than what you really want doesn't make you unloveable or lonely it makes you intelligent. Love can be a beautiful thing and one day you'll be glad you waited for someone who really makes your days a little brighter.

If you're single on Valentine's Day don't be sad, don't be bitter, don't look at all the love around you with resentment. Appreciate all the love in your life whether it be romantic or not, smile when you see a cute couple, and binge eat chocolate. Valentine's Day is not a bad day.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
