Dance Marathon FSU

I love passionate people. Watching someone's eyes light up when they talk about something they're passionate about holds an indescribable, incomparable beauty; passion is what makes life worth living.

Dance Marathon is Florida State University's largest student-run organization. Within this organization are the most zealous, enthusiastic human beings on campus. There is nothing necessarily "special" about the people who participate in Dance Marathon, but they are all a part of something extraordinary.

This coming March, over 1,800 Florida State students will be on their feet - and probably dancing - for 40 hours to raise money and awareness for Children's Miracle Network.

Many students are familiar with Dance Marathon's universal slogan, "FTK," for the kids, but neglect to realize what this statement is truly about. By participating in Dance Marathon, the differences you make in children's lives are beyond words.

These kids are our future, and it is up to us to give them more tomorrows. If I haven't convinced you already, here are some reasons you should most definitely donate to my Dance Marathon account.

1. Every child deserves the chance to be a child.

Looking back on my childhood, I have so many sweet, laughable, amazing memories. By raising money for Dance Marathon, we are taking steps closer to a cure. That means millions of happy memories outside of the hospital!

2. The money raised will benefit our local Children’s Miracle Network hospital, Shands Children’s Hospital, and the FSU College of Medicine's Pediatric Outreach Program.

Donations are not only going to Gainesville, but will also serve a purpose right here at Florida State. Support your 'Noles!

3. Every donation counts, you're helping to save a child's life.

It doesn't matter if you donate $1 or $1000. Your contribution will aide the overall cause, regardless of how big or small. Absolutely everything counts.

4. I will send you weird snapchat videos of me dancing.

Seriously. I love dancing. And after 20 hours, you can definitely expect to see me break out some very odd dance moves.

5. Support the passionate people of Florida State.

Dance Marathon unifies Florida State University; it doesn't matter if you're involved in Greek Life of Intramural Sports or the Math Club. We all join together in pursuit of the same purpose, to raise money for the kids.

6. Dance Marathon helps to raise awareness for Children's Miracle Network.

By raising awareness for Children's Miracle Network, you are bringing the hospitals closer to a cure. Donations are what these places run on, and the more people know about the goals of Children's Miracle Network, the more money they will raise for their cause.

7. Help me reach my goal!

My goal is to reach $1,000, and I would be endlessly thankful for any donations. FTK!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
