Seriously, what's not to love about fall? The leaves change colors, everyone's favorite sweaters come out and the scent of pumpkin is everywhere. It's the time of the year where everyone gets in the holiday spirit and embraces the start of the cold winter months. Here are 7 reasons why fall is hands down the best time of year.

1. Sweater weather

Fall is all about layers. It's the time where you put aside all your summer clothes like shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops and throw on your coziest sweater and hats and bundle up. Now's the time to break out that knitted sweater from grandma.

2. The colors

One of the best parts about fall is when the leaves begin to transition from shades of green to vibrant shades of yellow and orange. It's absolutely beautiful.

3. Bring on the holidays

This season is when every holiday takes place. It goes from Halloween, straight to Thanksgiving and then, right around the corner, Christmas. Who doesn't love the holiday season?

4. Pumpkin spice and everything nice

Pumpkin! Pumpkin! Pumpkin! Everything in the fall is pumpkin. Pumpkin coffee, pumpkin candles, pumpkin pie, you name it! Fall gives you a reason to stock up on all your favorite pumpkin foods.

5. Everything smells amazing

With fall comes certain scents that are sure to get you into the fall spirit. From warm scents like pumpkin and nutmeg to scents like apples and cinnamon, everything smells like a Yankee candle during this time of the year.

6. Bonfires

One of the best feelings is sitting by a warm, crackling fire on a chilly fall night with friends. Fall is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors and relax by a bonfire.

7. Football season

Ah, yes. Tailgating season and the time where everyone sits for hours on cold metal bleachers to cheer on their favorite team. It's freezing cold outside, but cheering on your team is totally worth it.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
