People worship Beyoncé. Others hardcore stan Drake. One way or another, regardless of who you idolize, I think that we can all agree there are certain celebrities in the world that we have put on a golden pedestal that is higher than the rest.

The world will never be able to actually come to a consensus on one person who is better than the rest, as there will always be haters and die-hard fans.

I believe, though, that there is one person that we all should idolize, and who is highly underrated. You may know him as Donald Glover or by his stage name Childish Gambino, or you might not know who he is at all.

Whether you already love him or this is your first time hearing his name, here are seven reasons that I hope will convince you to idolize him, as I believe we all should.

1. His raps are different from anyone else

Under the alias Childish Gambino, Glover started rapping professionally in 2011 and he brought something to the game that had not been seen before.

He offers raps filled with clever verses that are pure comedy, such as in his song “Do Ya Like” where he says, “I’m in love with you, but this is not tennis/ And baby stay stacked like she bad at Tetris.”

While many rappers are clever, none do it quite as slick and humorous as him, which sets him apart from the rest. Just listen to “Bonfire” by him and you’ll understand what I mean.

2. He's a hilarious comedian

Glover does not just throw out jokes in his raps though; he also does stand up comedy, which you can see on Netflix under the movie “Weirdo”.

He offers a new insight into issues such as racism through his comedy personal experiences as a black man in America.

3. He created the masterpiece that is "Atlanta"

"Atlanta" is a television series that started in 2016 that Glover stars in, writes, and directs that can be found on Hulu or on FX.

It follows the life of Earn, who manages his cousin's rap career in Atlanta, which houses the up and coming scene for many rappers.

The comedy/drama tackles issues such as modern-day racism and the struggle of trying to make something out of nothing.

It is different than any other show in that there is a plot, but it is not rushed or addressed directly. Rather, the show offers a look inside of Glovers creative mind and how he sees the world.

4. He helped write "30 Rock"

While he was in college at NYU, Glover worked with Derrick Comedy, which led to him to be discovered by Tina Fey, who then hired him to write for the hit comedy show “30 Rock.”

This started his comedy-writing career off and those who have seen the show know what a good job he did, as the show is debatably very funny.

5.) He can actually sing

There are so many singers these days who depend on autotune or other technologies to carry the weight of their performances, but Glover on the hand has pure raw talent, as seen in his most recently released album “Awaken My Love!”

“Awaken My Love” transitions away from his rapping to producing a funk worship that truly highlights the ability of his vocals. Songs like “Redbone” feature an impressive falsetto, while still telling a story.

6. His acting is amazing

Not only does Glover show off his acting ability in“Atlanta,” but he also has been in shows such as “Girls” and “Community.”

He is now making it on the big screen as Simba in “The Lion King” remake, where his vocals will again be tested.

He is also going to appear in the new “Solo: A Star Wars Story” movie as Lando Calrissian, which between his new world tour, the new album he’s suspected to release, making “Atlanta” season 3, and filming “The Lion King”, will make him a very busy guy.

7. Just look at him!

Enough said!

Overall, what I hope you take from this is Donald Glover is a talented, singer, writer, rapper, comedian, actor, and just an all around amazing person.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
