We all want what we can't have. It seems cliché, but in reality, it's true. And right now you all know what I'm referring to.
The coveted aux.
We all want to be given the privilege of controlling the aux, but the closest most of us come to that are the broken promises that the pledge DJ gave to you when he guarenteed he would play Despacito for the third time tonight, when really he just said that so you would stop bugging him about it.
So how do you become the go-to DJ at the next party? The answer to that is simple: mashups.
Anyone that knows me knows I have a sweet spot for mashups. There’s something about hearing two of your favorite songs put together that makes you want to turn the volume as loud as it can go and jam out. So here are some of my favorites compiled into one playlist, which are all available for free on SoundCloud here!
1. Bad and Boujee X Super Freak Full Mashup
All I have to say about this one is wait until 0:15. There's a reason this song is number one on the list.
2. Ferris Bueller's Mashup Ft. Drake & Hippie Sabotage
I bet you'd never guess you'd be jamming out to Ferris Bueller and Drake at the same time. This song is one of my all time favorite mashups, especially since it includes some of our favorite lines from the movie itself!
3. G-Eazy x Louis The Child (Far Alone x Venice)
I may be a little biased considering how much I admire both G-Eazy and Louis, but that's what I love about this one. It's the perfect mix of rap and electronic. It can get me excited for literally anything, even school.
4. No Sleep For Kanye (Alec Milton Mashup)
You'll be dancing before even hearing 30 seconds of this one. It's a feel-good party song that gets everyone on their feet.
5. Waka Flocka Flume [Remix]
Classic party song, No Hands, fused with Flume never disappoints at the party.
6. Tipsy In The Sun
This crossover of J-Kwon and Weezer is the perfect way to get the party started, or just get the day started on your way to school.
7. Breathing Justice (Kendrick Lamar, Drake & Taptone)
Last but not least, this is one of the most interesting mashups on this list. Though the song starts a little slow, once the beat drops and Drake comes in, without a doubt, everyone in the room will be pumped up.
Warning: If you put any of these songs on, be prepared to be asked the question "Wait, what is this song?!" at least three times throughout the night.
