I've always been that weird that loved going school supplies shopping. Something about making my mom buy me cute pencils and notebooks with my favorite characters and patterns made me have some kind of natural high as a kid. I loved showing up to school and comparing my pink pencil pouch to the girl besides me's purple one.

Fast forward to years later. I'm in college and still love buying everything I need for school (except overpriced books). Some of my best friends actually have the same weird obsession I have with cute supplies that keeps us organized.

Here are 7 things super organized girls get super duper excited about.

1. Gel pens

Do not even get me started on gel pens. For some reason I can't even begin to explain the amount of joy I get from using a new gel pen for the very first time. Something about writing in a bright color is just so satisfactory for me.

2. Cute planners

How could you not want a planner that has inspirational quotes printed on the front cover and throughout it? All I know is that if Target didn't have such cute planners I'd have a lot more money.

3. Cute notebooks and journals

I use adorable notebook and journals for just about everything. I use them for to-do lists, grocery lists, and just writing down reminders or even my work schedule. Making lists is just about 10 times more fun when you're writing it in a cute little journal.

4. Highlighters

Highlighters are essential for me to stay organized. Whether I'm using them for school or just to keep my calendar in order I get super excited whenever I buy a new pack of them.

5. Colorful Sharpies

Colorful Sharpies probably make me more excited than anything. I use them to organize my planner and calendar. I love opening up a new pack and coloring everything I own like crazy.

6. Post-it Notes

Post-it Notes have to be one of the best inventions ever. Who knew that a tiny piece of paper that can stick to stuff would help me stay so organized at college. I use them to write key notes in books I'm reading for class or to write myself little reminders.

7. Mechanical Pencils

Anybody who says the wooden #2 pencils are better than mechanical ones is a big fat liar who must've never had the luxury of using a mechanical pencil. I will forever support the mechanical side of the debate. There's nothing quite like finally getting a new box of mechanical pencils after losing all 24 of your last box.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
