1. The Mom.

She's the one you count on to get you home after Ladies' Night Thursday, and she's the one that will tell you all the embarrassing things you did the night before--because she's the only one who remembers. She's the most responsible of your friend group, but she still knows how to let loose every once in a while.

2. The Drunk One.

You can find her dancing on the bar, flirting with random guys for drinks, and/or passed out with a bottle of wine before the pregame is even over. Chances are she won't remember 90% of the nights she goes out, but she has fun and I mean YOLO, right?

3. Little Miss Sunshine.

She smiles so much it actually hurts your cheeks to look at her for too long. She's always happy and she's always ready to celebrate other people's successes or make them feel better when they're down.

4. The Therapist.

When you're having a mid-college crisis this girl is who you call. No matter how big or small the problem is, she always knows what to say to make you feel better.

5. Miss Never-Growing-Up.

She's 21 years old but has the personality and mindset of a 12-year-old. Her upcoming graduation, job applications and real-world problems are a million years away in her head which may worry you a little bit, but you wouldn't have it any other way.

6. The Guy Friend.

Every girl has one and if you don't then you need to get one. Your guy friend gives you the guy advice your girl friends can't. He can tell you when the guy you're crushing on is using you and he rolls his eyes when you ask him whether or not your outfit looks hot because that makes him feel totally uncomfortable. He'll make fun of you for telling him all your girl problems and you'll laugh at him for not understanding his girlfriend.

7. Miss Tell-It-Like-It-Is.

This girl is a real b****, but in the best way possible. She's real with you whether you're asking her about your outfit or whether or not you've really gained the freshman 15. She'll have your back when your new guy's ex is giving you dirty looks at the bar because she's not afraid to put anyone in their place.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
