Food is an essential part of any party or gathering. It's what brings all different types of people together for all different occasions, the Fourth of July being no different.

Here are seven great desserts that will ensure your Fourth of July party is super sweet:

1. The classic flag cake

2. Cheesecake stuffed strawberries

Without even having to take out any of the strawberries, cheesecake filling can be piped right in. Another fruity one, but a bite size must for any Fourth of July celebration. For the recipe click H E R E.

3. Ice cream cone cupcakes

Ones that all of the kids will love and can help make. Just put some batter into an ice cream cone, bake, and decorate to have a dessert that people of all ages will love. You can even get white cake mix and dye it red or blue for the holiday. For the recipe click H E R E.

4. Berry mini pies

Pie is a year-round favorite, that can fit any holiday. For the Fourth of July, you can make them patriotic by using a star cookie cutter on your pie dough and filling it with red and blue berries such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. Sure to be a hit at any party. For the recipe click H E R E.

5. Pop rock Firecracker Mini Cakes

This idea is insanely creative and fairly simple. First, you have to bake three different colored cakes, that are red white, and blue. Then get a thick cookie cutter or napkin ring and make circles throughout the cake. Then on the blue pieces cut out a small circle in the middle. Once that's done put the icing on the top of the white and red one so all three layers stick together. Finally, put pop rocks in the hole on top and you've got yourself an edible firecracker.

6. Red, White, And Blue Ice Box Cookies

7. Patriotic Pretzel Bites

Bite size, patriotic, and sweet equals the perfect combination. These pretzel bites can be the finishing touch on your party. You can even put them in a gift bag to take home. These pretzel bites can also be converted into an everyday dessert without the American flag design on top. Click H E R E for the recipe

I hope this helped you in deciding your menu for your party, or at least inspired you to create your own treat. Hope everyone has a very sweet Fourth of July.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
