Welcome to the future where dishwashers are replaced with a dishwasher that makes dirt.

7 Coolest Technology Innovations

Technology is fascinating and I am constantly amazed at the power of what it can do. Here is a list of seven really cool new technologies that will make you feel like a part of the future.

1. Nimb ring

Currently on Kickstarter, this fashionable ring can save your life in an emergency situation. By holding the back of the ring for three seconds, it sends an alert to your emergency contacts, saves audio from your surroundings, and can alert the police. It has a GPS and sends your gender and location to emergency services.

For more information or to purchase it visit: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/nimb-smart-ring...

2. Wireless Glass Keyboard

I've always preferred to type using my laptop since it is so much faster than the two thumb mobile keyboard. This sleek, all glass wireless keyboard can sync up with any tablet or mobile device to make typing easier and faster.

Be a pity if this all-glass design broke though.

3. Water Shade

This device stores your food and helps keep your food fresh longer. It uses water to create a force field around your food which keeps moisture in and dust out.

I bet those bananas are still going to rot after a couple days though.

4. Self-Steralizing Door Handle

Door handles are notoriously dirty, especially the ones in bathrooms because everybody has touched it. For germaphobes like me, I always use a tissue to open doors. Luckily, this door handle sterilizes itself with UV light and helps prevent spread of diseases.

It would be fantastic to see this technology spread to other areas like toliet seats or phone cases.

5. Smart Writing Set by Moleskin

For some reason, Moleskin has generated a group of intensely loyal fans who adore their leather bound (over-priced) notebooks. These fans are swarming to their newest invention, the notebook that can sync with a mobile device or tablet. It puts the notes that you write in the notebook into the tablet. After you're done, you can erase the page; so technically you won't run out of pages.

Just a warning-- it is quite pricey; it retails for about 200 dollars. If you want more information or to purchase it visit: https://store.moleskine.com/usa/en-us/moleskine-/s...

6. Eco Cleaner

If you hate washing dishes here is the dream product for you! You place the dishes inside and ultrasonic waves to ionize food particles into nutritious dirt for your plants.

Its still in production which means that you can not purchase it just yet. But my lazy side begs that it is soon.

7. Plastic Bottle Cutter

Plastic bottles or plastic anything is detrimental for the environment. Also on Kickstarter, the seemingly simple device can cut plastic bottles into reusable rope. Best of all, it is pretty affordable at only $17.

My only concern is what would happen if this product somehow became extremely popular-- would it reduce the amount of bottles being recycled? If a lot of this plastic rope is made, would the environmental impact be worse than if they were recycled? Either way, these are petty concerns to a product that has the potential to reduce this:

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
