1) Establish a quiet place that is free of distractions where you can just do nothing but study.

2. One must always schedule study time. Studying the last minute for 7 hours the day before your exam won’t help you. However, 7 study sessions for an hour each will help instead of craming it in all at once.

3. Set a goal for each week by challenging yourself. But make it manageable and don’t overwhelm yourself.

4. Recite the material aloud. If you are more active in the learning process, it will give you a better memory.

5. Overlearning is key. If you go beyond the point of when you can just recite word for word verbatim of what you learned, then the information is firmly locked in your memory. Overlearning really helps for people who are prone to test anxiety.

6. No matter what you should always review the material before you take a test. Forgetting takes places more rapidly within the first day you study. Therefore, always refresh your memory before taking an exam.

7. Believe it or not, instead of pulling an all-nighter sleeping right after you study will help you retain more information.
