Classic me - tries to do homework and instead ends up on Spotify for 2 hours looking for new music and songs to add to my "couple of motherfolking jazzy songs" playlist.
Now, whenever I do this I rarely find anything good, but these past few months the Discover Weekly and Related Artists have been rocking my Abraham Lincoln socks off. Here are some of the keepers -
1. The Kents
Frick. Y'all they have only released an EP but these songs are a BOP. They have a little Hippo Campus and Colony House mixed in them and honestly I feel great about where they are going.
High Key Listen To: I Know, Playing with Fire
2. The National Parks
You know these fun folks are headlining "couple of motherfolking jazzy songs" playlist right now. THEY ARE JUST HAVING FUN AND BEING FOLKY, AH.
High Key Listen To: As We Ran, Wind and Anchor, Tree in Tennessee
3. Mt. Joy
Put these freaking kids on your radar. They have three songs out on Spotify and they will change your world.
High Key Listen To: SHEEP, Astrovan, Cardinal (I listed them all cause they are fantastic)
4. Shakey Graves
Can be slow. Can be a bop. Folky. Good car music honestly. No complaints.
