Ready to venture into a new style of music, or diver deeper into one you're already discovering? Here's a list of just a few of my favorites from above underground musicians who make give me "the feels" every time I listen to them. All of these bands fall under one, if not most of these genres: indie folk, indie rock, baroque pop, experimental music, freak folk, dance-rock, electronica, electro, and post-punk revival.

1. Fleet Foxes

You may have come across their White Winter Hymnal when the Pentatonix did a cover in 2014, but they are the definition of indie folk. They bring a sense of wanderlust in their music, with adventure and longing. They're great when you're ever thinking too much and just need that breather.

2. Beirut

If you love Riptide by Vance Joy, you'll definitely enjoy Beirut's music. It holds a sense of whimsical beauty in letting everything be. Giving almost a circus like freedom, it's a great way to relax and let out the feels at the same time.

3. Bright Eyes

Now, they are a bit more popular, especially after their song, The Calendar Hung Itself, was played in the hit movie Stuck In Love. They are a bit emotional and definitely on the indie rock side of the spectrum. But when each of their songs are touching and give such a drive.

4. Glass Animals

Another more popular one, they take the definition of trip to another level. If color had sound, this is what it would sound like. They create psychedelic pop with such smooth precision.

5. Animal Collective

Another psychedelic band who conquers social issues out of the yin yang so effortlessly and makes experimental music easy to listen too, creating a ton of dimension in their music

6. LCD Soundsystem

Techno out of the box is an understatement for these rebels, breaking every music rule on the map, but maybe that's what makes them so special. They make noise sound like a masterpiece. It's hard to tell if they strategically plan this all out or really just throw it together and make little miracles.

7. Chromeo

Electro and societal commentary all in one trip but always a fun engage in. Very bubbly and upbeat, they create a comedic atmosphere with every song. However, they've been recently leaning toward more mainstream type music. None the less, they are always worth the listen.

If you've heard of one or all of these, you can consider yourself a music enthusiast in my eyes! Let me know which ones you like, don't like, and have heard before!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
