Music, wow, it's a universal language. Each song is unique and raw in its own way. There are genres ranging from Alternative, Classic Rock, EDM, Pop, Folk, Country, and so much more. There is something for everyone. There is something fascinating about listening to someone else's creation. It can give you chills, trigger electricity through your body, and make you feel as if you are on the top of the universe.

I first realized that I loved music when I saw how it made people feel. It brings everyone together and the distinctive factor about music is it's a worldwide language that anyone can relate to. You can listen to music where the lyrics are in another language, and you can feel the meaning of the song.

There are 7 albums that personally changed the way I looked at music. Whether from the influence of others or due to the circumstances,

1. "Nevermind" by Nirvana.

Released in 1991, it's a legendary album. "Smells Like Teen Spirit" still remains a worldwide hit.

2. "Led Zeppelin II" by Led Zeppelin

Released in 1969, Heartbreaker is my ringtone. My dad and I will continue to vibe over "Ramble On."

3. "Up From Below" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Released in 2009, this will forever be one of my favorite bands. "Home" continues to make me feel better no matter what. After seeing them perform live at Edgefield in Portland, OR, I will have a profound love for this indie band.

4. "Crazy for You" by Best Coast

Released in 2010, the simplicity of the lyrics in each song makes this album addicting. Bethany Cosentino is undeniably talented. She writes this song about the heartbreak associated with wanting someone who you can't have. It's a much better version of Taylor Swift.

5. "Pure Heroine" by Lorde.

Released in 2013, when she was just 17, Lorde is still a raw, talented, original, and beautifully talented artist. "Pure Heroine" broke barriers with its honesty and highlighting a new part of society. "Royals" will continue to be one one of my favorite songs.

6. "How to be a Human Being" by Glass Animals

Released in 2016, I first listened to this album and I didn't understand it. After seeing Glass Animals perform live in Missoula, I instantly fell in love with them. The spirit of the band explodes when they perform, this album is organic.

7. "Blurryface" by Twenty One Pilots

Released in 2015, this album is fantastic. Twenty-One Pilots supports the idea of dreamers. They started by playing in a garage and continued with any party they could perform at. They are humble and play simply for the love of their creation. Nothing is better.

If asked if I would be deaf or blind, I would rather be blind because music is too beautiful to give up. It has influenced my life, my friends, and my family. Music is irreplaceable.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
