Life isn't always easy and a lot of times it isn't easy to smile. There is so much negativity in the world that it can be easy to get caught up in it all and be unhappy, stressed and even angry. It's important to remember that life isn't all bad. There are beautiful moments, things and people all around us that can have a positive impact on us if we allow it. Here is a collection of 67 random things that make me smile even on my worst days.

1. Really, really green grass.

2. Seeing kids playing outside.

3. Clean sheets.

4. Bagels.

5. 75° weather.

6. Dogs.

7. Waking up early to see the sunrise (but not having to go to class or work).

8. The beach.

9. Tree branches covered with snow.

10. Long conversations that never get boring.

11. The feeling of relief after you do something that was stressing you out.

12. Finding a really good book.

13. Barbecues.

14. Valentine's Day.

15. Italian bread.

16. Christmas trees.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
