Can you believe it? October first is this week! Fall has officially begun, so it’s time to start acting like it. To help get you in the spirit, I’ve put together a list of ideas to help you decorate your home for the season! Hopefully these will make you excited for the cool weather and fun holidays to come. Happy fall everyone!
1. Filled Jars and Vases
For an easy decoration, grab a clear jar or vase and fill it with anything that reminds you of fall: leaves, acorns, pine cones, potpourri, anything! It’s simple and adds a touch of elegance to your home.
2. Door Wreaths
This is the perfect way to dress up the outside of your house for fall. You can either buy a wreath from a store, or go to a place like Hobby Lobby and find stuff for a DIY wreath. Check out Pinterest for some ideas.
3. Table Centerpiece
Whether you like to have people over for dinner or not, a centerpiece is a good way to add some fall to your home. You can get as creative as you want and make your own, or you can go to a store such as Kirkland's and buy a pre-made one.
4. Pumpkins
This may seem like an obvious one, but it’s the perfect decoration! Pumpkins are sold everywhere this time of year, so pick up a few, real or fake, and place them around your home. Keep the real ones outside, and grab some plastic small ones to place inside.
5. Scented Candles
Candles are one of my favorite things this time of year because they make the home cozy and smell good! I tend to go for more of an apple spice scent, but stores like Bath & Body Works have scents that range from pumpkin latte to outdoor fire.
6. Plaid Throw Blanket
Adding a plaid throw blanket to your living room couch will make your home feel both inviting and seasonal. The pattern is a statement of fall, and if you can find it in a flannel material, it will be perfect for cozying up next to a fire when the weather gets cool.
