For me, Halloween is the kick off to the most wonderful season of the year (Christmas of course). But to others, the holiday is their favorite day of the year. It means something different to everyone, and you can definitely tell how much someone cares by their choice of costume. It answers a lot of questions about people that none of are really asking. Do they actually care about the holiday? Are they just trying to get intoxicated? Did they do it for the insta pic? Their costume says it all. Here are 6 types of people you see during Halloween.

1. The One Who Goes All Out

You know who I’m talking about. They most likely ordered their costume in August, their face paint looks professionally done, and if you question their outfit they give you the full backstory of the character. These people take Halloween to a whole new level.

2. The Witty Person

These people are often pretty laid back about the holiday. Their costume is a play on words, usually pretty ‘punny’. These are the easy go-to’s for the people with a good sense of humor. Strike up a conversation with any of these people and you won’t be disappointed.

3. The Clearly Regretful Person

These costumes are basically just good for pictures. They really aren’t realistic in any way. Examples: a girl in 4-inch heels trying to dance, or a guy in a full Scooby Doo costume on the verge of having a heat stroke. Famous last words, “No, I can totally do these heels all night.”

4. The Obvious Last Minute

This person basically just threw together whatever they had in their closet. They’re just trying to have fun, no need to waste time on an elaborate costume, right? I’m almost always this person. (My idea this year was wear all black, and claim to be Harambe.)

5. The Cliché

The most common of all costumes. *puts on jersey* “I’m a sports player!” *wears animal ears* “I’m a mouse, duh!” We’ve all been basic before, there’s no shame.

6. The Duo

And finally, the adorable/disgusting couple’s costumes. The upside to these costumes is that they’re cute as heck, especially if you aren’t single. The downside is you look a little lost if you aren’t with your partner, so better be prepared to spend all night together. Couple’s costumes simultaneously make you want a relationship and three more shots!
