Going home for the holidays can be stressful, relieving, and weird all at the same time. Here are some thoughts that usually cross our minds during this time of the year.

1. I miss my friends

After spending so much time with them during the semester they become your second family, which means that being apart during winter break is a little sad.

2. Home-cooked meals are awesome

Eating out or eating cafeteria food will never compare to eating at home.

3. I forgot what sleeping more than 6 hours felt like

You’re still recovering from the damage finals week caused to your sleeping schedule.

4. Why can’t I just do whatever I want?

The good thing about college is that you manage your own time, but going home means your parents decide for you.

5. I can’t wait to binge-watch all the shows I need to catch up on

There’s nothing better than sleeping in and watching Netflix all day.

6. Being alone is weird, but feels so great

Even if you don’t have a roommate in college, you’re constantly surrounded by people in class, the library, cafeteria or restaurants. Being by yourself for more than one hour feels strange, but extremely satisfying too.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
