Us Temple students are lucky enough to be a part of a community with endless possibilities. Whether that be academically, socially, physically, or mentally, the sky is the limit as to what Temple has to offer.
New year, new me as they say. With a new year, Temple University has worked towards new amenities to please the student body even further. And, without surprise, they have done just that.
1. Take a class outside your major.
One of the (many) beautiful things about this university is the value of knowledge. Temple offers hundreds of different Gen Eds and interesting classes. As a journalism major, many of my classes are writing and reading intensive, but this semester I decided to take a Yoga class because, well, why not? I figured it'd help me get out of bed in the morning and get a start to my day.
2. Join Greek life.
Greek life isn't for everyone, and another great thing about this school is you don't have to be a part of it to have some sort of social life. This semester I plan on going to recruitment to see what the sororities are all about, but if it's not what you're into, that's cool, too.
3. Check out the new Saxbys!
(Most of) Temple's student body would agree that Saxby's is the spot. To accommodate that farther, Temple has installed a new and improved Saxby's in Speakman Hall. It's aesthetically pleasing with a different vibe than the cafe.
4. Join a new club.
Whether it applies to your major or not, Temple offers hundreds of different clubs on campus. There is absolutely no excuse for not being involved, because there is literally something for everyone. If there isn't find nine friends with a similar interest and create it yourself!
5. Go to the basketball games.
Basketball fan or not, attend one. The atmosphere and vibe of the game will keep you busy on those bitter cold winter nights, as well as provide some support for the Owls against our biggest rivals.
6. Enjoy every second.
Spring semester is the best semester. The weather is getting warmer, not colder, which is the best thing to look forward to. Despite the bitter cold days and nights we'll experience here in Philly, try to look past it. Fall semester flew by, and as will this one. You'll wish you were a freshman again (I wish I could be one forever) and relive it all.
