1. Vacations

I mean seriously, who doesn’t like vacations to the ocean? With your friends or family... It doesn’t even matter as long as you make it to the ocean. Going into the ocean, being knocked down by the waves until you can’t get up again, and finding seashells while walking down the beach with someone just talking is the best of any vacation.

2. Boating

Days on the lake are just the best ways to spend an entire day! Loud music playing and just soaking up the sun getting a nice tan or burn - whichever your body prefers! There’s nothing better than going on a boat, feeling the wind through your hair, fishing with friends or family and having competitions of who can catch the most fish, or even jumping off the boat into the water and watching all the crazy stunts everyone pulls off!

3. Late Nights By The Fire

A nice relaxing night at home with some good friends sitting by a fire is also one of my favorite things! We all play our favorite jams, sing along, and just have fun together. We talk until the sun comes up or the fire goes out and everyone goes to bed. Maybe you are even the type to roast some marshmallows over the campfire. You have to admit that just sitting by the fire at night is such a relaxing feeling that no one can beat.

4. Concerts

My, oh my, do I love concert season! I literally sit on Saratoga Performing Arts Center's website for at least a month waiting to see what great shows I can go to! I spend about half of my summer going weekend to weekend at SPAC for concerts... And no, I don’t have any shame in it! These are the best parts of my summer! I meet up with all my friends, listen to some great music, and we all have a great time. Sometimes these concerts can get a little crazy, but they are still some of the best nights of my summer!

5. Thursday Nights At The Lake

I don’t care how many times I go to the lake on a Thursday night during the summer...In case you were wondering, it’s just about every one! I just love going up there with great friends and meeting up with people to watch the fireworks, no matter how many times I have seen the same firework display! There’s always something to do at the lake. We play laser tag, go to the arcade, look at all the shops, get some pizza and ice cream, and just walk around until the show is over. Nothing better to look forward to on a Thursday night than these nights at the lake with some of my favorite people and also meeting new people!

6. Camping

One thing I look forward to the most every single summer is the end of summer camping trip to Old Forge. Nothing beats a fun weekend camping trip with your family to end a perfectly good summer! I always enjoy going to water safari with my family, going down the water slides, trying to race my other siblings; it always turns into a competition with them and at the end of the day we just laugh over the fails we did. On the way to our trip, we always stop at this little store that we always end up spending our money at. The best part of the trip is having no cell service, it’s like a little get away from the world... From all the drama that comes with it and no social media to break time away from my family. We all look forward to this and it brings us closer as a family!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
