Don't get me wrong; I'm just as excited as everyone else is to go home and spend the holidays with family and friends. Plus, no school for an entire month! However, while I am excited about this upcoming break, there are a few things that I will extremely miss about college over the next four weeks:
1. No parents
Sorry mom and dad, but I love feeling like an adult and I can make my own rules for myself. Still love you, though!
2. All of the freedom
Similar to number 1, having your own freedom in college is the best feeling ever. You're the only one in control of everything in your life, and you don't have anyone constantly in your ear telling you what to do (except for your teachers and RA's of course).
3. Going out
Whether it's to a party, the cinema, or even out to dinner with your group of friends, going out in college is so much fun, especially since there's no curfew for when you have to be back home.
4. Being in charge of your own schedule
Sleep in until 1 pm? Go to the gym at 5? Study at the library until 8 and then maybe go out? All of this is within your control and nothing is stopping you from doing whatever you want unless you have class.
5. Being on a large campus where no one knows you
Going back home means going back to your town filled with neighbors and people from your old school who know everything about you pre-college. However, this all changes once you come to college because there are too many people on campus to know everyone individually.
6. Seeing my friends
But most importantly, not seeing my friends for an entire month is definitely going to be the hardest thing to do.
