Dear guys,

It's 2017 and as we Millennials like to say chivalry is dead. Well, I am here to tell you that it doesn't have to be. Guys love to claim that girls are super complicated but it all comes down to some simple things that will make a girl feel loved and understood.

1. Pay for dinner.

This is an obvious thing that guys should still do for girls on 2017. On a first date, the guy should absolutely pay for the dinner. For future meals, it is more acceptable for the guy and girl to go Dutch treat (each person pays for their own meal).

2. Hold the Door Open.

Common courtesy never gets old. People should always hold the door open for whoever is walking right behind them. This is even more crucial when it is a couple on a date, especially a first date.

3. Push her Chair In.

A simple chair movement never will go out of style. It lets the girl know that you appreciate her and make notice of small details. Now, of course, a word of caution with this one or you may end up on AFV instead of on a second date.

4. Buy her flowers.

Even if your girl says that you don't have to get her anything, deep down inside she wants to be one of those girls who post a picture of her man buying her flowers to add to her Instagram aesthetic. Before you think you need to break the bank, check your local grocery store or local field for that matter. It's the thought that counts.

5. Compliment her.

Now, most guys got this one down on the first few dates but once you start getting into the long term it becomes more difficult. When she has her hair in a messy bun or when she is lounging around in her favorite PJ's. These are the perfect times to strike. Never forget to tell her that she is beautiful or that you appreciate all of the little things she does for you

6. Be Unique.

Every couple is different and every relationship has its own quirks so be sure to cater to that to keep winning your girl's, heart. If you girl loves sushi than a sushi date is perfect. If your girl loves movies then bring on the popcorn. I could go on and on but the point here is to do things that are unique to your guys' interests and the things that you and your girl love to do together.

These are just 6 out of the endless amounts of ways to keep your girl smiling and show her that dating is not dead in 2017. I didn't want to give you all these ideas because I'm assuming you have a head on your shoulders and can doctor up some thoughts of your own. You can take these ideas and run with them and keep coming up with your own ways to win your girl and keep your girl by your side for a long time. Whether you have been together 5 weeks, 5 months or 50 years, never stop coming up with ways to make your girl fall in love with you.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
