We all have seen shows like "Greek" and read articles about how awful Greek life is, but that isn't always the case. Here at Boise State, things are different for us; we aren’t like the TV shows, you might not understand us, and that's okay, but here are the things we want you to understand.
1. We don’t all hate each other.
Sure, there are houses that we aren’t best friends with, but it’s not like we run around bashing each other. We want each house to be as successful as ours because we are all in this together.
2. You don't have to have a house on Greek row to be Greek.
Being Greek isn't defined by four walls and a roof (or however many walls there are in a mansion). You can be Greek without a Greek row. We are just like every other Greek community, we just pay fewer dues.
3. There is more to Greek Life then partying and getting drunk.
There is sisterhood, philanthropy, Greek week, and many more things that contribute to a wonderful experience other than getting drunk every weekend.
4. We have read your comments on Yik Yak, and they don't bother us.
We get it, Greeks have a bad rap, but that doesn't mean we follow suit. You can post all the comments you want, but they don't change our pride in our sorority or fraternity.
5. We are more then our stereotypes.
We all have national representatives, we have things that come to mind when we say that we are in *insert name here,* but we are more than that. We have a lot of incredible things that are associated with our sororities and fraternities, and that's what matters.
6. Sorry that we talk so much about Greek life.
We don't talk about it to brag, we talk about it because we genuinely have so much pride in it and we can't help but share that!
