As a college student, everyone wants to know what you are majoring in, where your internship is and the scariest question, what you are going to do after you graduate. Making the decision on what you want to do for the rest of your life is a daunting task and unfortunately, I'm very indecisive.

Luckily, I have plenty of time still and many options, but these 6 shows keep me rethinking my career decisions on a daily basis.

Law and Order: SVU

The only explanation that this show needs is Olivia Benson. As soon as you hear that distinct theme song, forget your plans for the next hour because you’re already sucked in. The Special Victim’s Unit of New York city is always kicking butt and taking names, continuously giving 110% to the job. Sargent Benson somehow always looks fabulous while chasing after criminals, and she’s the perfect model of a strong independent woman.

Fixer Upper

I’ve decided Chip and Joanna Gaines have the best life. They live on their own farm, Magnolia Farms, in a picturesque farmhouse with their adorable children. They spend their days getting to work with their spouse, and they don’t get sick of each other. Really Joanna has it the best of all, she designs some of the most beautiful houses in Texas and Chip does all the heavy lifting. Her designs are something that only exists in my Pinterest dreams, but every time I watch, I tell myself that I want to be an interior designer.

Say Yes to the Dress

Kleinfeld is the equivalent to a bride’s Disney World. Helping a bride find her dream dress looks so glamorous and fulfilling. Of course, you will always have a few ‘bridezillas’ that make you wonder why you ever took this job, but that is a rare thing. Who wouldn’t want to go to work every day and be surrounded by pretty dresses, plus I am a sucker for weddings.

Sex and the City

Que the Cosmos. Carrie Bradshaw works as a writer in New York City and somehow can afford to have a shoe closet the size of my house. She is doing something right, I tell you. She works as a newspaper columnist and freelance writer for Vogue, and if I knew I could support myself living in the Big Apple as a write, I would do it in a heartbeat, so thank you, Carrie!

Grey’s Anatomy

Even through all the tears shed watching this show, it still makes being a doctor seem amazing. The bonds the doctors have with each other are unlike any other coworker connection. You are lying to yourself if you don’t envy Meredith and Derek’s relationship. Also, Cristina Yang is incredible with her independent attitude and confidence. With all these amazing doctors around you, who wouldn’t want to work at Mercy West Hospital?

Nashville

My dream as a child was to grow up and be a famous singer. To my despair, I was not given the talent of singing or playing any kind of instrument, so I live out that dream vicariously through the singers on this show. Between Juliet’s struggling with her personal life to Maddie’s growing career, the series shows you all the ends and outs of the country music industry. Even though stardom is a lot more than what we see it as, I would still kill to be a singer.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
