This week has been a whirlwind in the news world, with important events occurring left and right. Because I know that it's difficult at times to keep up with the news without losing your faith in humanity, I'll present it to you with the help of one of America's favorite TV shows: Grey's Anatomy.
Note: Because I am aware of how difficult it is to get news from nonpartisan, independent sources, I've done my best to get information from sources with all kinds of political leanings, ranging from liberal to conservative to anything in between.
1. London was attacked
The city of London was subject to a terrorist attack in which three people were killed and 28 were injured. The perpetrator was a man by the name of Khalid Masood.
2. Germany worked on an "artificial sun"
It means that in Germany, scientists have turned on what has been dubbed by some as "the world's largest artificial sun." It has 148 spotlights, and the device's goal is to find alternatives to natural sunlight and fuels friendly to the environment.
3. Popular conservative political commentator Tomi Lahren was suspended from her TV show after controversial comments
After going on the TV show "The View", and saying "I’m someone that’s for limited government. So I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies," she was suspended from her TV show on the Blaze network.
4. Millions of emails have been hacked (from Yahoo and Gmail), and are being sold on the dark web
5. FBI director James Comey testified before the House of Representatives, commenting on various issues involving the president
He says that there isn't proof that previous president Barack Obama wiretapped the Trump campaign, and that the FBI is investigating ties between the president's campaign and the Russian government.
6. Trump's nominee for the Supreme Court is going through hearings, and Democrats in Congress are making promises to vote against him
Some of are even threatening a filibuster to block his confirmation.
7. The bill introduced to replace Obamacare (the AHCA), was pulled from a vote in the House after failing to get enough support for it to pass
According to the Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, "We are going to be living with Obamacare for the foreseeable future."
