Marching band, am I right? It's like, I enjoy playing an instrument, and I like marching, so I decided to do marching band! OMG! Let me tell you, when I was in high school, it was really hard for me to pick between marching and band, so I decided to take marching band instead! Are you in marching band? You are?! Well, here are 6 signs that you can identify with as a fellow marching bander!

1. On Your Transcript, You Have a Class titled "Marching Band"

I know what you're thinking. You're in Marching Band, you check your transcript, there's a spot where it says "Marching Band," and you say to yourself, "Guilty as charged!" I mean, there it is, clear as day right by your major specific classes and your overall GPA: "Marching Band." This is a pretty solid indicator that you are indeed enrolled, and participate, in marching band.

2. When Someone Asks if You're in Marching Band, You Reply With "Yes, I Am"

This is a classic "band geek" move! How many times have you been on your way to marching band, someone sees your instrument and asks, "Hey, are you in marching band?" and you reply with, "Why yes, I am in marching band!" Too many for this writer to count that's for sure! There's just something about responding in the affirmative to this question that screams, "Here I am world, I'm in marching band!"

3. On Weekends in the Fall, You Occasionally Wear A Marching Band Uniform

Ah, it's a crisp Saturday (or Sunday) afternoon between the months of August and October, and there will be a collegiate football match played later that day. You know what that means. You will be wearing a marching band uniform, as you are in the marching band, and will attend the football game! When other people see you, they think to themselves, "I bet the guy (or girl) is in the marching band!"

4. During Halftime of a Collegiate (or High School) Football Game, You Perform With the Marching Band

Speaking of football games, do you ever find yourself standing in the middle of a football field during the halftime intermission, wearing a full marching band uniform and executing movement akin to a marching band show? Congratulations! This is one of the lesser known signs that you are indeed in marching band, and might actually confuse some people at first, but then they'll just refer to point 2 on this list, and everything is ok!

5. Near the End of the Summer, You Attend a Week Long Camp to Prepare for Marching Band

Before those games can even happen though, you have to participate in a week's worth of activities pertaining to the bettering of the marching band that you participate in. Let me ask you: Is it mid to late August, and you find yourself back at school for the purpose of completing marching band related activities? Oh yeah, you're in marching band alright!

6. You Read Any of These Points and Thought "Gee, I Really Am in Marching Band!"

Now that you've finished this article, are you thinking to yourself, "You know what, I might really be in marching band after all!" Well chances are, you are actually in marching band, as doing any of these things otherwise would make you a liar and a strong candidate for possessing a neurological condition. Or you're in guard. Good luck during band camp!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
