I've always had trouble sticking to workout routines. I've tried going to scheduled gym classes, I've tried workout apps and I've tried just doing my own thing each time. Somehow, I can't ever keep it up. My parents got a Peloton bike a while back, but I had never even considered trying it.
At my new apartment complex, they offer the bikes in our gym. One day, I decided I would give it a shot to see what all the hype was about. Immediately, I knew I'd be going back to do this very often. I was hooked.
1. It's fun.
I mean, this is self-explanatory. If you like doing fun things, you'll like this. It's a workout that doesn't ever feel boring.
2. Variety of class options.
From pop to hip-hop to rock, there is sure to be something you like. There are hundreds of classes to choose from, with new videos being uploaded daily. You'll never run out of options.
3. It's motivating.
In an actual class setting, you might experience a fear of being judged. Peloton gives you the instructors' motivation, while also giving you privacy if that's what you prefer. The instructor will keep you interested and determined, making sure you won't quit half-way through.
4. It burns fast calories.
Peloton has a calorie counter which really puts into perspective how fast-acting the workout is. A thirty-minute bike ride could actually burn over 500 calories. Put aside thirty minutes a day, and you'll see results.
5. Fits into your schedule.
Another issue with actual workout classes is that the timing might not always fit into your daily routine. With Peloton, you can choose when and how long you want to workout. Schedule flexibility is important if you're a busy person.
6. It tracks your stats.
If you're interested in how many calories you're burning, how many workouts you've done or how many miles you've traveled, Peloton saves this information. You can go back and see your records, save songs you like, and even compete with your friends. This interface really keeps me motivated, since I can visualize what I've actually done.
Although investing in a Peloton could be pricey, there are other options. Check your apartment gym or a gym nearby and find out which ones have a Peloton bike. Once you find one, create your account and start pedaling!
