6 Reasons To Love John Cena

John Felix Anthony Cena, or as others know him by John Cena, is a man to be admired for both his in ring career with the WWE and outside the ring appearances. This man is a true hero for many people. Here are some of the reasons why:

1. He's HOT!

He may not be everyone’s heartthrob (although he is mine), but come on, you have to admit the man looks good for being almost forty. I’m sure most of us would give anything to look half that good at forty. This man has definitely aged well and is showing no signs of decline as his fortieth birthday approaches this April.

2. "Never Give Up"

Holding a seat in the public spotlight, John Cena most definitely sends a good message to his entire fan-base, by promoting his slogan “Never Give Up.” Occupying hats, shirts and countless memorabilia, the infamous slogan has swept across America, inspiring kids of all ages. This is a great slogan for everyone to live by because it is a reassurance on life’s hardest days and John Cena himself is among the best living examples of what you can achieve if you don’t give up.

3. "Hustle, Loyalty, Respect"

“Hustle, Loyalty, Respect,” is the slogan from John Cena’s earlier WWE career, but still a great one. This slogan targets more of the sports aspect of Cena, but can be applied to all athletics. To be great in any sport, it takes an awful lot of hustle on the court and in the gym during practice sessions, loyalty and time commitment to the sport and to its progress and respect for every aspect of the game including yourself, your coach and your fellow athletes.

4. 16 Time WWE World Champion

John Cena left the 2017 Royal Rumble with a title he is all too familiar with: the WWE Championship. This victory marked the 16th time a world championship has been in the hands of Cena during his career with the WWE, tying Cena with Hall of Famer Ric Flair. To add some perspective, John Cena is entering his 15th year with the WWE, meaning he has more world title reigns than years in the business.

5. Make-a-Wish Foundation

John Cena has granted 500 wishes and counting for the Make-a-Wish foundation, which is more than any other athlete or celebrity in history. Along with being the first person to grant 500 wishes, he was the first to grant 300 and 400 wishes. A quick google search will reveal that the closest his competition comes throughout the whole foundation is over 200 wishes each granted by Michael Jordan, Jeff Gordon, Hulk Hogan, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Justin Bieber. It is self-evident that Cena blows his competition out of the water outside of the ring as well.

6. Appearances Outside The Ring

Most people probably know Cena because of his outstanding career in the WWE, but the man is definitely not a one-hit-wonder. John Cena has made many appearances to various events outside the ring. Example include: throwing the first pitch at Dodgers game, hosting the ESPY awards in 2016, hosting the Nickelodeon choice awards and countless TV show appearances, late night talk shows and movies including Psych, Saturday Night Live and the Marine. As you can see, the man is very diverse and has much more to offer than his physical strength and WWE career.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
