If you know me then you know that I’m a podcast fiend. I can’t get enough of them. I listen to podcasts just about any chance I get: doing laundry, working out, when I’m too hungover to look at a TV screen, and road trips. I definitely have my favorites, and have even written about them in past articles, but I’m here to share each and every show in my podcast library.

1. My Favorite Murder

As previously mentioned, I do have favorites and “My Favorite Murder” is my favorite of all time. I won’t spend too much time on this one because you can check out a full description in my previous article here, but I’ll give a quick summary. Hosts Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark flawlessly combine true crime and comedy for a podcast that’ll have you looking over your shoulder one minute and cracking up the next.

2. This American Life

Okay so this isn’t technicallya podcast, rather a radio show, but I’m including it anyway. The show is hosted by Ira Glass, who has one of the most soothing voices I’ve ever heard. She also sounds a little like Fred Armisen. Each episode has a theme which is explored through several “acts” produced by various staff and freelance contributors. The content varies widely from week to week, but can mainly be categorized as journalistic non-fiction. Some of my personal favorite episodes are “Notes on Camp” and “Switched at Birth.”

3. Insanely Chill

Vine-star-turned-YouTuber Cody Ko hosts this podcast in which he interviews a guest each week. This podcast has grown a lot, and what used to be 10 minute episodes of Cody ranting about random topics such as tattoos and hard tacos has transformed into a show with the ~super sophisticated~ structure that it has now. The laid-back atmosphere of the show allows guests to talk about their own lives with room for hilarious tangents. Plus, there’s a visual option on YouTube! Some of his guests have included Joe Santagato, Jimmy Tatro, Emma Chamberlain, Josh Ovalle, and many more.

4. 2 Dope Queens

What sets “2 Dope Queens” apart from other podcasts is that it is taped live at Union Hall. The show is hosted by Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson, and features three guest comedians each episode. The show discusses issues such as “race, gender, sex, and other less serious topics.” Also check out the “2 Dope Queens” interview-talkshow spinoff “Sooo Many White Guys,” which is hosted by Phoebe Robinson and produced by Ilana Glazer.

5. Stuff You Should Know

“Stuff You Should Know” is both a podcast and video series published by the HowStuffWorks website and hosted by Josh Clark and Charels W. “Chuck” Bryant. Episodes are released every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and they educate listeners on a wide variety of topics such as cheese, pinball, and tipping in restaurants. Josh and Chuck are by no means experts on the topics they explore, rather just a couple of guys who really enjoy research. Their relatable self-deprecating humor and genuine curiosity makes learning fun!

6. Do You Need A Ride?

Hosted by Karen Kilgarrif and Chris Fairbanks, this podcast has a pretty simple concept: The two hosts take other comedians either to or from the airport, and interview them along the way. Some examples of guests include Fred Armisen, Rob Delaney, Todd Glass, and Jamie Lee. Come along for the (literal) ride as Karen and Chris attempt to host a podcast and avoid crashing all at the same time!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
