Pinterest is a place to find some of the strangest, yet most helpful tips to get a flawless makeup look. Some of these outrageous techniques, however, turn out to be complete bogus. Many of them make you feel so silly, and if the end results are not what you were hoping for, you put yourself through the embarrassment for nothing. Luckily, there are a handful of tricks that can enhance your everyday routine and make your mornings more efficient! These are some of Pinterest's best hacks, tried and tested by yours truly.
1. Achieving the perfect cat eye wing
A perfect eyeliner wing is essential to any makeup look. Simply positioning some tape to serve as a straightedge would create a clean, sharp wing, leaving you with a strikingly beautiful eye.
2. Making your eyeshadow color pop
Unfortunately, many eyeshadow colors, especially drugstore brands, lack pigment and appear too sheer and muck-colored on the eye. Using a white base allows the color to appear in its most vibrant, true form. Anything from white cream eyeshadow to white eyeliner can be used to create this effect of a popping color!
3. Making your eyes appear bigger
Although black eyeliner in the lower waterline adds a beautiful intensity to your makeup look, it also makes the eye appear smaller. Replacing this black color with a white or nude gives the illusion of a larger eye, making the eyes look brighter and more lively.
4. Use the baking technique
No, this does not mean baking chocolate chip cookies while doing your makeup! Baking refers to the technique in which generous amounts of translucent powder is applied on top of concealer to set it. After allowing it to sit on the concealed portions of the face for approximately 10 minutes, you gently brush the excess powder away. This leaves the face with a flawless, crease-less and illuminated finish!
5. Reviving a dried mascara
If your favorite mascara, which you could never bear to throw out, is running dry, try adding around 10 drops of a contact solution or nonprescription eye-drops to it. Once you shake the solution into your drying product, it should be fresh and set to use for more clump-free applications.
6. Properly erase dark circles
If you apply your concealer incorrectly, you end up drawing more attention to the amount of sleep you lost from staying up to finish your work! Simply blending concealer along the bags emphasize their shape and region, making it much more noticeable. Applying the concealer in a triangular shape, however, covers the whole section, making it more difficult to spot the trouble area.
