With the first round of midterms coming to a close, we're moving into the sweet three-week break that falls before the second set of exams and finals. While some would like to spend their time getting ahead in their school work (ugh, as if), I personally take this mini break from hardcore studying to catch up on some good 'ol Netflix. If you're looking for a good show to do the same, here's a list of my top six favorite Netflix shows.
1. Desperate Housewives
Forever and always my favorite TV show, Desperate Housewives is one of the most addicting series to watch. Set in a typical suburban neighborhood following the lives of four women after the passing of their best friend, the show is full of twists and turns and some insane plots. Hands-down a must-see.
2. Mad Men
Set in 1960s New York, the series covers the professional and personal lives of cut-throat advertising agents. Mad Men highlights the glamorous and dramatic life that everyone pictures when they think of New York City in the mid-1900s.
3. Law and Order: SVU
Though Netflix only has the three most current seasons available, SVU is the perfect show to watch if you like trying to solve mysteries and find twisted, messed-up crimes fascinating. Because each episode follows an individual plot, this series is one that you can start to watch at any given point. It's the perfect between-classes filler.
4. Friends
Okay, if you haven't watched Friends by now, who are you? Following the lives of six friends in late 90s, early 2000s New York City, the show spans over ten seasons, making it the perfect show to lock yourself up in your room and watch for a full weekend.
Forewarning: if you watch Grey's, you will suddenly find yourself attached to fictional characters in the most extreme of ways (still not over George). The chemistry that the original cast has makes you feel as if you know each of them individually. The show is set around the lives of the doctors of Seattle-Grace Hospital in Seattle, Washington. Hot doctors, drama, love, and blood-- what more could you want in a show?
6. Lost
The show opens to a scene of a violent plane crash on what appears to be a tropical island. However, the survivors of the crash are left with little to no provisions and no idea of where they are. And from there, honestly, you just have to watch to understand. I've never felt more mind-f*cked in my life. Lost is so confusing that it makes it pretty much impossible to stop watching.
Now, pick your favorite of these six shows, load yourself up with some diet Coke and American Dream delivery, and prepare to not leave your computer for the next few days.
