Coming back to your hometown after a year at college can be a big transition. There are a lot of mixed emotions that come along with it.
1. Happiness
Finally seeing your friends from home and family again after being away for so long is a happy feeling. It makes it even better knowing that you aren't just home on a break but you have four months to spend with them.
2. Relaxation
You have an entire four months with no schoolwork. That is a huge relief, especially since you have just finished finals. Sure, you probably have a job at home but there's no pulling all-nighters to cram for a test the next day.
3. Excited
An entire four months to spend with you friends from home will bring lots of new adventures. There's also visiting your friends from school and getting to see new places.
4. Awake
No more waking up at 8 am and rushing to your 8:30 class, besides work there is no good reason to get up that early. You can sleep in and be well-rested for a change. You also get to sleep in your own bed, which is very satisfying after the small dorm room beds.
5. Bored
After seeing all of your friends again, it is inevitable that boredom will strike. You will miss going out in college, and there will not be anything like it in your hometown. You will probably end up wishing you were back at school.
6. Sadness
While at school you saw your friends everyday, and now you have to spend 4 months apart from them. You can visit them but you will not be seeing them anywhere near as much. You will find yourself missing them and feeling sad that there is so much distance between you.
