As a member of the Wolfpack, there is a list of things that you should definitely know about NC State culture. Some are common sense and some many be a little bit different but each are important when it comes to being a dedicated Pack member.
1.The fight songs
If you are going to be sitting in the student section at any game, you are going to need to know these by heart. They aren’t too challenging and there are not very many so if you didn’t get them down at convocation, you should definitely take some time to practice before your first football game debut.
2. Don’t try to go to Talley during prime lunch time
It seems like the entire NC State population tries to eat in Talley at around 1:00 PM every afternoon (especially Jason’s Deli) so if you are in a time crunch, eat elsewhere. Try the dining hall or the restaurants on Hillsborough Street if you don’t have a meal plan instead.
3.Everybody trips on the bricks
With the majority of campus being made of bricks it is pretty much impossible to not trip on a brick or two every once and a while so don’t be too embarrassed when this happens to you. Just try your best to play it off and watch where you step.
4.You have to be willing to fight for a parking spot on campus
Just like about every other college campus in the United States, the parking situation is a tricky one. If you go in with a can-do attitude and a lot of perseverance, you might, just might find a spot that isn’t a mile away from where you are trying to be. But the number one thing to remember is to park in your designated area because the parking enforcement during the weekdays is no joke here.
5.There is never such thing as too much red
I mean we are the red and white from State so I think it goes without saying that there is never such a things too much red but there is definitely such a thing as not enough red. If you are ever having trouble deciding what to wear to a football game, the above should point you in the right direction.
6.Go to as many sporting events as possible
One of the huge perks of going to such a large state school is the athletics. With all tickets to sporting events free for students, you should totally take advantage as much as your schedule allows. Especially at basketball and football games, the energy is insane and something that you have to experience as a member of the Wolfpack.
