I'm sure by now everyone has heard Taylor's new single, "Look What You Made Me Do", and are suuuuper excited for her new album, Reputation. While I was listening to it for the 200th time, I started thinking that there were actually some good lessons in the song. I guess you could say that this song made me realize a lot of things.
Anyways, here they are.
1. "I don't like your little games."
This lyric made me think that sometimes, and in the right way, it's OK to call people out for the little games they're playing with you and tell them to stop. Life's too short to play stupid mind games with people. Board games, however, are a different story.
2. "Honey, I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time."
This lyric just made me think that even when life and people knock you down you can and should get back up. Because when you get back up, you prove to yourself that you have enough strength within you and that you don't need those haters in your life.
3. "You asked me for a place to sleep, Locked me out and threw a feast."
This line reminded me that sometimes people will trick you. That not everyone is as nice as you think they are or as they seem.
4. "The world moves on, another day, another drama, drama."
This lyric made me think about our world. And how people only care about who is dissing who, or who started a feud with someone.
Which I think is ridiculous, because we live in a pretty awesome world. I mean we have coffee and cheesecake and CATS. So, who cares what some celebrity said about another?? Try and focus on the good things more than the bad ones.
5. "I don't trust nobody and nobody trusts me."
When I thought about this lyric, I was so happy that I couldn't relate. I'm so glad that I have people that I trust, and that trust me. I hope that you have someone you trust, because it's so important.
6."I'm sorry, the old Taylor can't come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, 'cause she's dead!"
This lyric reminded and encouraged me that it's OK to change. It's OK to reinvent yourself, no matter where you are in life. Keep changing, it's good for you. I mean have you seen (and smelt) stagnant water?
