Whether you currently have a job or will have a job there is no doubt that you will come across people who are difficult to cooperate with. You will get frustrated. You may cry. But here are some easy ways to not let them get to you.
1. Be ready for anything, and always go to work prepared (physically and mentally).
2. Just do what you're told.
Some policies and procedures may seem unnecessary. If your boss gives you a task you think is pointless (which will happen a lot), don't argue, and just do it. Some people will like to order you around and berate you for the most trivial things just because they are in a position of power. They might have an inefficient way of completing things but you just gotta do it their way, otherwise, you're breaking their rules. And you don't want to have that one-on-one.
3. Be prepared to learn.
Similar to #1, be willing to learn from your mistakes. Whether it’s temporary or long term, take those experiences and make the best out of it even if you’ll get a hard time from it. You never know when it will come in handy. Plus, going into work wanting to learn already brings enthusiasm to the work environment.
4. Always try to be positive.
Some bosses might expect you to break down and get frustrated, but if you respond with love and positivity, they won't know how to react. In a sense, you got to fake it till you make it. Show them that their micromanaging and nit-picking doesn't bother you. Plus, bringing a positive attitude will make everyone else feel great, too (just don't overdo it).
4. Don't take it personally.
You are capable of what you do; you just need to remind yourself. They may try to bring you down just because of one little mistake. Your boss may be constantly on your back and fishing for little mistakes, but don’t ever lose confidence in yourself and your abilities.
5. Know that it's probably not forever.
In the end, especially if it's your first job, you're not going to work there the rest of your life. Plus, if you know how long you'll be working with your evil boss, you'll learn to ignore and make the most of it. And when you get to leave and become more successful, you can prove to them that you have so much more potential than they ever will.
6. Remember you are not the only one suffering.
Always remember that your coworkers are probably going through the same. If your boss is THAT terrible, you’re probably not the only one feeling that way. Vent with your coworkers and colleagues; it’ll feel refreshing. But, don’t form a perception of your boss because from the experiences others have had.
