Winter is upon us. This means snow, cooler temperatures, staying indoors, and the dreaded cold and flu season. You can try your hardest, but it's nearly impossible to avoid getting a cold when people are coughing and sneezing at every turn. It's inevitable that you will get a cold at least once during winter; here are 6 essentials you need to get through a cold with as minimal pain as possible.
1. Hand sanitizer
Just because you're already sick doesn't mean you can't help to prevent spreading it! Use hand sanitizer whenever you're in public to help prevent your germs from spreading to others; no one wants to get a cold.
2. Tissues
Seems obvious, but it's easy to forget to bring tissues with you. Get a travel-sized pack of tissues to carry with you at all times when you have a cold; it's much better than using your sleeve.
3. Cough drops
Coughing is one of the most annoying parts of a cold. Make sure you stock up on cough drops to help get you through bad coughing fits.
4. Cold medicine
Unfortunately, there is no cure for the cold, but cold medicine can help to suppress the symptoms.
5. Warm blanket
Sometimes you feel so under the weather that all you want to do is curl up under a warm blanket. Rest is key to recovering from a cold, so bundle up and watch Netflix.
6. Tea
Tea helps to clear and soothe your throat; some teas even have vitamins and can help boost your immune system. Indulge in plenty of tea during the duration of your cold.
